As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, here is a typical itinerary for the Palace on Wheels:

Delhi –>Jaipur –>Ranthambore and Chittorgarh –>Udaipur –>Jaisalmer –>Jodhpur –>Bharatpur and Agra –>Delhi

Day 1: Departure from Delhi

  • The journey usually starts from Safdarjung Railway Station in Delhi, where passengers are given a traditional Indian welcome.
  • You will board the train and settle into your luxurious cabins.
  • The train departs from Delhi in the evening, marking the beginning of your royal journey.

Day 2: Jaipur

  • The first stop is Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan and known as the “Pink City.”
  • Visit the famous Amber Fort, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, and Hawa Mahal.
  • Enjoy a royal lunch at a heritage hotel.
  • Return to the train for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Ranthambore and Chittorgarh

  • In the morning, the train arrives at Sawai Madhopur, near Ranthambore National Park.
  • Embark on a wildlife safari to spot tigers and other wildlife (subject to availability).
  • In the afternoon, the train proceeds to Chittorgarh.
  • Explore Chittorgarh Fort, one of the largest forts in India.
  • Return to the train for dinner and continue the journey.

Day 4: Udaipur

Day 5: Jaisalmer

Day 8: Return to Delhi
